Helen Foeldi Obituary

Helen Ilona Foeldi, 83, of Phoenix, passed on February 16, 2006. She was born May 5, 1922 in Hungary to Lajos Szilagyi and Ilona Racz. After escaping from Hungary to Canada at the end of the 2nd war, she started a new life and had two children. She, her husband Les and her children moved to Phoenix from Toronto in 1959. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie William Foeldi (2005). She is survived by her son, Dr. Ronald Akos Foeldi, daughter, Monika Ildiko Foeldi-Humphrey and her husband Stephen, sisters; Elizabeth Hajnal of Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, and Barbara Reok of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, her beloved dog "Buffy" and numerous friends from her church and neighborhood. She was a very active member of the Hungarian Reformed Church where she will be missed greatly. She had formed a special bond with some of the children in her neighborhood, Kyia and Ross Lively, who thought of her as a grandmother. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2006, 11:00 a.m at the Hungarian Reformed Church 1822 W. Vogel Ave. Phx, AZ and at 1:00pm, at St. Francis Cemetery 2033 N. 48th St. Phoenix, AZ. Memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Helen I. Foeldi to the Hungarian Reformed Church P.O. Box 83625 Phoenix, AZ, 85071-3625. She was a devoted wife; beloved mother, dedicated friend and she will be deeply missed by all. Arrangements by Hansen Mortuary.

Mon your Mom was someone special who always had a smile and kind word for those she met. Her kindness, gentleness and warmth truly made her one of a kind.
