Helen McConnell Obituary

Helen I. McConnell of Phoenix passed away peacefully April 3,
2004. Her daughter, Lisa Day, son, Paul McConnell, grandson, Jason Jordan, granddaughter Sara Jordan, son-in-law Terry Day and daughter-in-law Diana Peters were all by her side when she passed.
Even her "grand-dog" Murray was with her when she passed. Helen was born in Headley, Kingsclere, England. She served in the Royal Air Force from 1941 to 1945. She met Leon B. McConnell, an American soldier in 1952. They moved to the states and were married in 1953. They lived in Baldswinville, NY until he passed away in 1966. Helen, Lisa, and Paul moved to Phoenix in 1968. Her son, Terry McConnell and his wife Mona of Omaha, Nebraska and her daughter, Linda Webb of Thame, England, also survive Helen. She is survived by 8 grandchildren. Helen was an active member of her church and sang in the church choir. She will be missed by many family and friends. Private graveside services have been held. A memorial service is Saturday, April 17, at 2:00 P.M. at Cross in the Desert Methodist Church, 12835 N. 32nd St. in Phoenix. Donations can be made to Arizona Kidney Foundation or Hospice of the valley. Services entrusted to Shadow Mountain Mortuary.
