I remember the message one day where he talked of sitting in the back of the church, telling God, 'not yet, not yet, not yet....'
I'll not forget the day after services were over where he helped Rita and I repeat our marriage vows...
Pastor Herb was an inspiration to us all! He was a good friend. I surely do miss him.

After 35 years we would still like to thank the Lord for putting Herb into our lives. He was instramental in getting us into the ministry to Mormons. All these years later we are still at it and won't stop till the Lord calls us home. Praise God for people like Herb. Thank you! Our love to Jeanette and the family.

Ps 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
We learned this afternoon that the man who played a very important role in our spiritual walk, has earned his reward. So very grateful to the Lord for a willing vessel, who poured into Gene and I , at a time we had no hope, He welcomed us as we made our public profession of faith, and later baptized the both of us. In Vernal Utah He also officiated our wedding, and spoke words of blessing that are still being reaped today. Thank you Pastor Herb Stoneman for giving to the Lord, we are 2 lives that were changed. May we endeavor to make a difference the way that you did. I will always remember him saying don't follow me, FOLLOW CHRIST!

Herb Stoneman was our first Christian Pastor and special mentor. It was his "push" that put us into the ministry to Mormons 30 years ago in Vernal, Utah. We have been in this work ever since and we are praising the Lord for Herb's example and "Victory in Jesus", one of his favorite songs. We love Herb and Jeanette and we look forward to seeing Herb at the feet of his beloved Jesus. That might be sooner than we think for imminent Rapture is coming.

Pastor Herb was more to me than just a friend or a pastor. He was the big brother I never had, the father I could turn to when I needed to and the man who single-handedly led me back to the grace of God. I will miss him tremendously!

Tonight, I have been able to sing along with some worship songs I have been listening to online, for the first time in years I am not losing my breath or my voice. Pastor Herb knew I used to be a singer but couldn't sing very well any more because of physical problems. I have a feeling he put a good word in for me "upstairs!" I miss him terribly!

I was so blessed to have Herb as my Uncle. From the time that I was little, I remember him singing. He would get out his guitar and sing "How Much Is That Doggie" over and over because it was my favorite song. I remember many times when my Uncle Herb would walk around singing...it was just something that he always did. Christian songs, Christmas songs (really, any kind of song), in a store, at grandma's house...he would just sing. In the past few weeks, I was so lucky to be able to visit him several times while he was at the hospital. We had great conversations about everything from vacation spots, my kids, my job, his job, heaven and more. He made a difference in so many peoples' lives, including mine. He will be missed by many and the lives that he has touched will continue his work.
We love you Uncle Herb!

What a blessing it was to be with you these past few weeks and witness the love and grace you showed everyone who came in touch with you. You will be missed more than you can imagine... Who else would even think of robustly singing "Joy to the World" in the aisles of WalMart! Oh my, the conversations we have heard about that started with you singing a song in a public place. You made a difference and I'm sure you were welcomed "home" with open arms.
