Ferguson, Howard E.
72, of Sun Lakes, AZ passed away on March 4, 2014, after a short but courageous fight against cancer. He was born and raised in Illinois. Upon graduation from high school, Howard served four years in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, including with the Air Commandos. He made his way into farming in Illinois where he farmed corn and soybeans. During this time, he also spent several winters in Australia doing harvesting work. He left farming in 1986 and moved to Arizona, where began working for Intel. He retired from Intel in 2010, after 24 years of distinguished service in haz-mat world-wide shipping. Howard leaves behind family and friends across the globe, who remember him for his quick wit, friendly smiles, unique stories, and heartfelt generosity. Howard always felt that the world was full of friends he just hadn't met yet. Howard is survived by his wife, Susan, brothers Roger of Illinois and Robert of Missouri, a son Howard Jr. of Wisconsin, daughter Chris Weuve (Jason) of Iowa, son Greg Frattini (Jeremy Nylund) of Michigan, daughter Kami Bachler (Aaron) of Arizona, and son Eric of Arizona, as well as granddaughters Bethanie (Trent), Alison, Abby, and Eleanor and grandsons Brendon, Bryan, Brock, Kyle, Brady, Ethan, and Lincoln. A celebration of Howard's life will be held at the Sun Lakes Country Club, 25601 N. Sun Lakes Blvd, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248, on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, who treated Howard and his family with kindness and grace.
