Like Buck Aden and Don Wagner, I went to school with Jim from Kindergarten through our graduation from Shadle high school. Jim lived a block from me and was a loyal friend for all those school years. Reading his history it is obvious that he led a productive and faith based life. I'm sure he touched many lives in a positive way. His service to his country should be recognized and applauded. My prayers are with Jim's family during this difficult time. Your were a special friend Jim. Rest in Peace.

Jim and I were neighbors and buddies from kindergarten at Finch through high school at Shadle. I'd like to share a story that I don't think many of our mutual friends knew. The summer after we graduated from Shadle, Jim and I got jobs hoeing weed in the grass fields near Nine Mile Falls. (We made $1. per hour). Jim and I hatched a plan to skip college for a year, buy an old delivery van and travel around the US living in the van "to see the country". We were very serious about this plan. I told my parents about our plan and they were lukewarm - probably thinking it would never happen. But when Jim told his parents, they said absolutely no! They wanted Jim to go right into college. And that was the end of our dream. I did stay out of college for a year to work and one of my jobs was running the ski shop at Mt. Spokane. It was there I met my future wife and we've been married for 53 years. So things did work out for both me and Jim, but our paths never did cross again after that summer. I will always remember my long time friend and the fun we had planning our odyssey. Glad to read that Jim was a Christian man. I pray for the peace and comfort of God for his family.

And to think we first met at kindergarten class at Finch Grade School. Then it was first graduating class of Shadle Park High School. You were then the best man at my wedding. And life went from there!!! Good going bud!!!
