Diane, Brandon, Garrett, Diane & Eleanor,
I am so sorry for your loss and sorry I could not make it to AZ for Jim's memorial. My "cuz jim" and I grew close again when my son Rick jr. went to school in AZ and Jim and Diane opened there home to him. It was great going out there to visit my son and his Uncle Jim, Diane and Chewie. The look on my sons face while he sat there listening to the stories we told of growing up together and the things all us cousins and friends from the old neighborhood did together. It was as if time never passed and the laughs never stopped. He will be missed.

I lived With James for nearly four years on the big U.S.S. John F. Kennedy cv-67. I will never forget the times he would invite me to go disco dancing with him and as he said, "To impress girls you have to do it John Travolta style". Of coarse I could not dance like John Travolta or any style for that matter, but I joined James once in a while. In Italy we had a good time with as he said, "my people". James was good and you could see it in his eyes. He was a man of principle and compassion. I have a million stories about James (Luige) never mind those great adventures while on the Kennedy. I will miss you shipmate...and where ever you are I just want you to know that I had been wanting to go and see you but I could not. I will regret that! Life tends to tie one down and seldom allows us to get free from that storm we face just trying to live an everyday life.
To his wife and kids, you were blessed to have shared life with James. I love that man and I am proud to have shared times, laughter, tears and Joy. He is with our Lord now and he is surely making our Jesus smile. God Bless you!

Dear Eleanor and Diane,

It was with such deep sadness that I read about the passing of your brother Jim. I am so sorry for your loss, and for his wife and children as well. I wish I could be there to hug you both and cry with you, but since I can't, I offer this prayer for all those who mourn for Jim.

Love,
Karen Wirth

"O merciful Father, you have taught us in your holy Word that you do not willingly afflict or grieve your children: Look with pity upon the sorrows of your servants for whom our prayers are offered. Remember them, O lord, in mercy, nourish their souls with patience, comfort them with a sense of your goodness, lift up your countenance upon them, and give them peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord." Amen.

Our Dearest Diane,
Our hearts are hurting to hear such sad news Jim was such a special person to so many people including Harvey and I he will be sadly missed.
I remember the first time we met I was driving down the street to invite our new neighbors to our LUAU. And there in the scorching heat you both were working on your yard. I stopped the car hopped out introduced myself and the rest is history.
Harvey and I loved the many times you both joined us for a one on one or a huge get together. Jim loved it when Harvey would call him Whipper Snapper and that would always bring a smile to Jim's face.
He was always the funnest person at the party that is for sure.
I can almost see him now in Heaven holding his baby Chewy in his arms and loving on her.
Also know that they are both with you day and night watching over you from
above.
Diane please know that we are here for you any time day or night.
We are just a phone call, email ,or a few mile away.
May God bless and be with you and give you strength in your time of need.
Your friends,
Harvey and Shirley Cochran

And that you have many friends her on earth to help you thought this terrible time and beyond you will never be alone. Just remember we are just a phone call or email away.

Jim had a heart as wide as the span of time and never failed to show it in the warm smiles he always had on his face or the kind words he shared. We are so glad we met you Diane because we never would have met Jim. The laughter and excitement the two of you brought to our lives will always be cherished. Dancing after Bunco nights will never be forgotten. And the friendship we began will always be there for you. Call on us any time.

I first want to say without a doubt Jim was one of my best friends I've ever had and I loved him. No one made me laugh harder and have a good time then JIM!!! It just breaks my heart that I can't go get a chocolate malt at Jack in the Box with him. We just wanted to hang out and laugh. We were professionals at wasting time. He loved life and taught me to look at things in a different perspective when I was having a tough time. I pass that on every chance I get. I instantly liked Jim the first time I met him and we became best of friends instantly. Copper Canyon Cruisers and I will miss you "LAMBO". His car club nick name.
