Our family loved James! He and Virginia were the kindest primary teachers to our son Corbin. James was always kind to everyone, had a great laugh, smiled a lot and was a man of great faith. You always learned a lot by just listening to him pray.

I always enjoyed seeing Brother and Sister Smallwood serving in the Gilbert temple together. They were always quick to offer a friendly hello and share a kind smile. Brother Smallwood will be missed!

God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb, so He closed your weary eye lids and whispered, Peace be Thine. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home! Our earthly loss is Heaven's gain. Vic, you truly were a beloved Disciple of Christ...May you rest in eternal peace. In Christ, Duane Richardson

I am so sorry for your great loss. May the God who "binds up the brokenhearted" and "comforts all who mourn" sustain your family during this challenging time. (Isaiah 61:1,2)
