Jeanne was my ESL tutor when I was I child attending Squa Peak Elementary School in Phoenix(around 1984 if my memory serves me correctly). She tutored myself and a Vietnamese boy named Luc. I told her that I didn't believe in Santa Claus. She would take us driving around the neighborhood, looking at all of the houses that were lit up so beautifully and would say "that's where Santa lives". I never really bought into the idea. Until there was a mysterious knock on the door on Xmas Eve. I opened the door and to my amazement there was a (then) massive box filled with presents! I ran around the house, proclaiming, "there IS a Santa, there IS a Santa". I would later come to discover that it was actually Mrs. Borthwick. She was an Angel of a woman, in the truest sense of the word. I will never forget her. If anyone should have any info as to if/where she was buried, I would appreciate to have the opportunity to pay my respects for her kindness and generosity. Rest in peace.

After a somewhat tragic childhood
Jeanne went on to have a wonderful
life with her handsome husband Howard 'Curley'Borthwick. They had a
child Danni, and traveled the whole country in their RV. Jeanne was a
published author of stories and poems. She was my friend.
