John Avent Obituary
Phoenix - John Timothy Avent, known to friends as "Tim," passed away December 19, 2017 at the age of 70. Born in Albany, NY he was adopted by Arthur B. Avent and Beatrice H. Terry-Avent. Growing up in Fairfield, CT he graduated in 1965 from Roger Ludlowe High School where his activities included drama club, fencing, and track. He went on to serve in the United States Navy. He has 2 children, Tiffany and Erik with his first wife, Carol Juliette Orduno. As a young man, he enjoyed collecting cars and motocross, even riding in a few races himself. He worked for the City of Phoenix for 30 years before retiring. During that time, he graduated from ASU with a degree in Business. "Tim" was also very grateful to be a part of the theatre and film communities, performing in many productions around the valley and beyond. He is survived by his two children; Tiffany Avent-Conner and Erik Avent, his three grandchildren; Aaron, Stephan, and Isabella, his longtime companion; Christine Kile-Dintini and numerous friends, including his friend of over 35 years, Rebecca "Becky" Zaudtke. A service will be held Saturday, January 6th. at Open Door Fellowship Church at 2:00pm. 8301 N. 19th. Ave. Phoenix, AZ. 85021. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of "Timothy Avent" to Valley Youth Theatre ( http://www.vyt.com/support/ ).

Tim was working as the Budget Analyst for the COP City Clerk Dept. when I knew him, as a fellow employee. He was always a stand up guy, and never put on airs. Once when the monthly report I submitted to him bounced due to errors, he very nicely explained to me that it reflected badly on him, with Vickie, the City Clerk. I always triple checked everything from that point on, because I did not want him to suffer from my mistakes. That was the kind of original good guy he was. I always enjoyed conversing with him, and when he retired to the ranch in Montana. I hated to see him go. Nobody gets out alive, but he was too young, and as we all know, "Only the good die young".
