John Daniel "Dan" McGoldrick, 60, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2005. He was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Upon graduation in 1966 he went to nuclear power and submarine school. Dan served aboard the USS Cobbler SS-344 and the USS Henry L. Stimson SSBN-655. He completed his active duty as Acting XO on the decommissioning crew of the USS Halfbeak SS-352... the same sub he cruised on his First Class summer which convinced him to enter the submarine force. After the military, Dan received an MBA degree from the University of Connecticut with a major in real estate finance. As a result, he spent the next 33 years in the commercial real estate field. Since 1991 he joined The Pointe & Gosnell Builders and for the past few years has served as President. Three days after graduation from the Naval Academy, Dan married the former Patricia Thompson who he had known since the 7th grade. Dan was a wonderful husband and father who brought sunshine and laughter into their home everyday. Dan leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Pat, a daughter Shannon Steuart and two grandchildren, Cole Daniel Steuart and Collin O'Brien Steuart. He is also survived by a sister, Barbara Sands and mother, Kathryn McGoldrick, both of Newton, PA, and father, Jack McGoldrick of Myrtle Beach, SC. Dan's good heart, gentle spirit and incredible smile will be sorely missed by family and friends. Mass will be held for him on July 22, 2005 at 2:00 PM at St. Patrick's Church on 10815 N. 84th St. Scottsdale, AZ. I will always remember the generousity that Dan and Pat showed to everyone, especially at Pennsbury High School reunions and get-togethers. He was a wonderful man who fought a courageous battle with a dreadful disease. May he rest in peace.

When we moved to Phoenix and met Dan and Pat we knew they were a special couple. In a room of strangers we wanted to talk to Dan. He had a presence about him that made you notice him and light up a room. Pat, our deepest condolences to you and your family.

I am so sorry I was not able to be with you all in person, but I truly was in spirit. It was hard not to love Uncle Dan even if you didn`t have the opportunity to spend alot of time with him, which was unfortunately my experience.
With loving thoughts always,
Wendy

We'll always remember our dear friend Dan for his kindness and gentle ways and all the joy he brought to people around him.

His sincere love for Pat, Shannon, Scott and his two little angels, Cole Daniel and Collin O'Brien, was so obvious. They were the sunshine in his life.

We will always remember his motto "Keep smiling" and his trademark "A thumbs up". He was very special to us and we will miss him dearly.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Pat, Shannon, Scott and their family.

Love, Jennifer and Joe

I will miss the boy who taught us what dancing was all about in high school, the man who married one of my closest friends, Pat, the generous soul who shared so much with so many, the dear friend who celebrated my 60th birthday with me, and the brave man who looked death in the eye and winked for all of us. God bless you Pat and family.
Love and walks around the block, Donna.

A wonderful business associate and friend. Words like "heart, spirit, kindness, and warmth" belong to Dan. The upbeat and positive attitude during his illness was an inspiration to everyone. "Keep smilin'", my friend.

Dan impressed me throughout our four years together as an affable, intelligent, kind and honest person who we all were privileged to know. We will miss him as a former classmate, as a man and as the husband in a couple we all envied. My deepest sympathy to Pat and to his family.
