Don and Ruby,

We are so saddened to hear of Jon's passing, but are assured that we will see him again in God's kingdom. He was such a courageous, kind young man who touched the lives of many. His "disabilities" were only temporary. Can't wait to join him "dancing with the angels"! Love and hugs, Nancy Cummins

Dear Uncle Don and Aunt Ruby,
We want to thank you for the opportunity to have known Jon. We have fond memories of his visits to Canada and the times we spent with him in your home. Jon certainly was an example to our family! He demonstrated determination, love of family and a special understanding of others. His life story has often been passed on to our families and friends as a reminder of the strength God gave him to embrace his difficult, earthly journey. We are saddened by his passing but are blessed to have known him.
Love,
John, Louise and family

Although my memories of Jon are mostly from our childhood and holidays spent together. I will always remember Jon's smile. This picture is perfect because that's how I remember Jon, smiling. He was always happy, loving and fun to be around. I can't think of a time that Jon wasn't happy. He was a wonderful young man who I admire for the way he lived his life. And while I'm saddened by Jon's passing, it's only goodbye for now, because we will some day be walking together with our Lord in the beautiful place that he has prepared for us. My deepest sympathies to Aunt Kathy and Paul and all of those who loved Jon so very much!!

When it comes times to write my ASU Libraries memoir, favored patron Mr. McCombs most certainly will be included. Inducing a smile and laughter out of Jon made my day, rest assured! I'll not soon forget. Peace be with you.

Having known Jon for the past 30 years it saddens me to think of the Lakeshore Family being with out him.

But, we won't actually be without him. He will live on in our hearts everyday.

The example Jon set was amazing. His pererverance, his determination to live a normal life and his Love of God was an example that will not soon be forgotten.

I know that Jon would want us to think of him with a smile and not tears.

His sense of humor and his go get'me attitude will always be something I remember.

May God bless all those who knew and loved him.

My dear Don and Ruby,

I love you both, and you will continue to be in my prayers. Thank you for your love and commitment to Jon. You raised an extraordinary man! I will never forget him and his quirky sense of humor. He holds a very special place in my heart, and I know that I will continue to be blessed because of the example he was to me. Jon taught me to be accepting of others, and that you certainly cannot judge a book by it's cover. To me, he defined perserverance, love, and determination. I know that Jon and I will one day walk side by side in our Lord's kingdom.
