Joseph Croteau Obituary

Croteau, Joseph Eugene Reginald
Joseph Eugene Reginald Croteau, "Reggie" or "Joe" to friends and family, passed away on Monday, May 2nd in Surprise, Arizona at the age of 89. He was born in London, Ontario, Canada on February 3rd, 1922 to Hermas and Clara Kingsley Croteau. He was one of the youngest in a family of 18. When he was about 5 the family moved to Detroit, Michigan where he lived until he joined the US Coast Guards as an Apprentice Seaman in January, 1942. After World War II, he moved to Hermosa Beach, California with his wife Helen Jackson Croteau and raised their 4 children and worked as a dairy delivery route driver until his retirement. Joe was divorced in 1973. He moved to Eugene, Oregon where he met his partner for the last 23 years, Barbara Konstan. Joe and Barbara moved to Sun City in 1992 to relax, get out of the Oregon rain, enjoy the many golf courses, and to take short trips in the RV that they had bought while in Oregon. These last few years, he really loved their large new home in Sun City Grand with the quail and rabbits running through the yard; and spent time watching football, golf, and old westerns. He is survived by Barbara Konstan, his daughters, Claudia Croteau Johnson and Cynthia Croteau Salas (Robert - husband, Robby and James - grandsons), and his sons, James Croteau (Chris - wife) and John Croteau (Candy - wife, Catalina - granddaughter and Cooper - grandson). He is preceded in death by a grandson, John VA Croteau. A memorial service will be held for him later in the year in Eugene, Oregon. Donations to The Alzheimer's Association in memory are appreciated. His tribute page is http://act.alz.org/site/TR/Events/Tributes-AlzheimersChampions?pg=fund&fr_id=1060&pxfid=29985&pxfid=29985
