Joseph Martinez Obituary
72, of Goodyear, passed away November 2, 2015. Born on March 12, 1943 in Phoenix. He is survived by his brothers, Armando (Maria), Pascual (Dolores), Manuel, Andy and his many nephews and nieces who loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Guadalupe; brothers, Efren, Vicente, Frank (Mickey), Jesse; and sisters, Julia, Lupe, and Maria. Joe was an Army Veteran, who served during the Vietnam conflict. When he came back, he worked as an equipment operator in the construction field, then later in life as a truck driver for the local produce farms. Joe was full of life and loved visiting with family and friends by keeping everyone in the loop. Joe enjoyed taking care of his cats and driving around in his Mustang. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 2 at 11:00am, with Military Honors, at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, located at 522 East Western Avenue in Avondale. Doors will open at 10:30am, with services concluding at 12:30pm. Condolences may be left for the family at www.AvenidasFuneralChapel.com.

I was sorry to hear of Vachie's passing. I will never forget how he cared for my mom when she was sick. He called her everyday or he came by to visit. My mom looked forward to those times. It was really neat to see them together laughing and talking, he made her forget how sick she was. He was a good brother. I like to think he is now reunited with mom in heaven! Now we have more angels looking out for us. Peace be with you at this difficult time.

VACHIE, You are in heaven now with your family, rest in peace... I will Never forget the first time meeting you. Lupe is my mother, greatly missed! Her strength has made me who I am today. When I seen you..you were the spittin image of my Mom. You had her expressions, her smile her wisdom. I remember your great sense of humor..and your mustang with the cherrys embroidered on the seat covers ...you pulled up so cool! You made me feel welcome! The next day when my mom passed you where there and Ill never forget your eyes... your smile..it made me smile because I was looking at my Mom all over again. I will miss you greatly!
