Joyce Robertson Obituary

Joyce Ann Robertson

Sun City - Joyce Ann Robertson, 76, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away in her home close to her family on April 10, 2020 following a 4 year courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was described by her Doctors and Nurses as a "Warrior", having participated in multiple clinical trials and related research. Joyce obtained great strength and courage from her supportive family, loyal friends, caring medical staff, and her deep faith and love for her Lord Jesus Christ, constantly believing in and living by the promise that "with God all thing are possible". Matthew 19:26 Joyce was born in West Winfield, New York to Perry and Irene Haynes on May 28, 1943 and was raised by her maternal grandparents Ralph and Vera Rich. She has a living sister, Constance Pope, and a brother Richard Haynes who is deceased. Joyce married Bradley Robertson in Glendale Arizona in 1985. They celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on January 27, 2020. Joyce was devoted to her family, many loyal friends, and she loved her two rambunctious Schnauzers, Wally and Holly, known as her "Babies", and fondly remembered every pet which preceded them, particularly Molly & Katie. Joyce was known for her boundless drive and energy, and her terrific smile and wonderful sense of humor. She loved deeply and closely watched out for those who needed her special talent for encouragement and nurturing through difficult times. Her uplifting words and ever present smile will be missed, but her memory will remain a constant source of strength, inspiration and joy to those who knew her.

Joyce is survived by Bradley, her son Joseph, her daughter Vikki, her granddaughter Destiny, and her sister Constance. A Memorial Service for immediate family will be held on April 18, 2020. At a future date and time to be determined, a full Celebration of Life will be held, to include extended family and friends. Details for this service can be accessed from the Legacy obituary page.

My thoughts of Joyce go back to when we met in Phoenix thirty plus years ago. I realized then what a wonderful person she was. She is missed by all who knew her.

Joyce was one of my oldest friends in Arizona. She was a true human being who left her mark on all who knew her. Her kind words and peaceful persona were a rarity in todays world. I miss her and I am sure all of her friends and family do as well.

It has been an honor to be a part of Joyce's care team for all of these years. Yes, she was a true Warrior! I will never forget her or that warm smile and great laugh. I will think of her every time I see my purple ribbon on my badge. Prayers of comfort being sent to Brad, Jay and family.

My heart filled with deep sorrow when I read her passing. She was a woman of deep love for all she met and care for over the years. A true fighter to the end. We shared a lot of love and tears over the many years we were together even laughing so hard over drinking hot water on a extremely hot summer day. I thank God for giving me the privilege of knowing this fabulous woman of such strength and love.
