Hello,
Our family will be sending Care Packages to Army units in Afghanistan this week and we would like the Gallegos Family to know that some of these CPs will be sent in the name of Justin. Each will include his photo and will state "Dedicated to the Memory of Justin." We realize that this is a very small tribute, but we do this with the utmost respect and with our heartfelt condolences. May God Bless you and keep you safe.
Respectfully,

To the family of Sgt. Justin Gallegos,
I am the head football coach at Broadway High School, located in Virginia. Each week this season, our football team will play in honor of a fallen soldier. This week, we will be playing for Justin and the 7 other soldiers, who gave their life on October 3rd, 2009 from the 3rd Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. Our team considers this a great honor. Their acts of bravery deserve a fitting tribute. Our players will play very hard tonight and we hope to make Justin and his family proud. I hope you find comfort knowing that Justin's life continues to inspire others... even a small town football team in Virginia. Thanks!

Justin was one hell of a soldier. We were in the same platoon for the fist portion of OIF 5. I can attest to not only his bravery, but his genuine concern for other soldiers. Many men are better soldiers today because of Justin's training. My heart goes out to his family and his friends. America truly lost one of its finest when it lost Justin.

Prayer for Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen

Justin I can't believe you're gone :( I know that you are in a better place where there's no war, no hate, just peace and beauty. You were a great nephew and always treated me with respect and kindness. Remember when I would call you "my teddy bear" and I'd give you a big bear hug and you'd flash that beautiful smile of yours. For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to our Brother-in-Arms SGT. Justin Gallegos. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Justin. And to Justin it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Justin, you are a brave American Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,353 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Justin’s and loved ones.

JUSTIN WAS A FRIEND OF MINE THAT WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED. I HAD THE PLEASURE OF ATTENDING TUCSON HIGH SCHOOL WITH HIM (CLASS OF 2000). HE WAS A HUMBLE PERSON THAT CARED FOR HIS FRIENDS AND ESPECIALLY HIS FAMILY. HE WAS THE ROCK OF HIS FAMILY AND MY CONDOLENCES GO OUT TO THEM. HE WAS VERY BRAVE FOR TAKING ON A CHALLENGE THAT MOST WOULDNT DARE ATTEMPT. HIS SON SHOULD KNOW WHAT A GOOD MAN HIS FATHER WAS.
NOT ONLY TO HIS COMMUNITY BUT TO HIS COUNTRY. JUSTIN WILL REMAIN IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS FOREVER.
I HOPE ONE DAY THE GALLEGOS FAMILY WILL FIND PEACE IN ALL OF THIS. THANK YOU JUSTIN FOR BEING MY FRIEND!

I had the pleasure of going to Tucson High School with Justin. He was a very humble human being that cared deeply for his friends and especially his family. He was a good student and solid football player. He and his family lived directly across the street from Tucson High at the time and we shared many moments that I wont forget. We graudated in the year 2000 and I recall Justin attended the graduation party at my house. Justin was the rock of his family; and his son should know that his father is a good man that will be deeply missed by his family and friends. I send my condolences to the Gallegos family.
One day we will find the peace that we constantly search for.

As Americans, we have so many things that we take for granted. Our material wealth is unmatched by any society, as worldwide many of our everyday items are a rarity...from TVs, microwave ovens, computers in our homes, etc.
Despite any arguments over our health care, anyone who can comes to the U.S. for treatment.
Our children are free to pursue any career they wish, with a variety of opportunities to get there.
We can openly practive any religion, or none, that we choose.
These are gifts that you and your comrades have given to us.
From the bottom of my heart I wish to thank you, and to your family, my deepest condolences and respect.
God bless you eand yours.
