Katherine Reynolds Obituary

Katherine G. Reynolds, was guided home by her angels and fairies on December 25, 2005, after aggressively battling lung cancer for 9 months. She died in the peace of her home, surrounded by her beloved pets and adoring family. She recently moved back to Arizona to live near her daughters and grandchildren. She loved her unique home and spent many hours on her center courtyard "puttering' in her garden. She led a busy life of knitting beautiful afghans, arranging thematic quilts, crocheting blankets for her special grandchildren, creating dollhouses with intricate details, and collecting a variety of dolls and teddy bears. She is survived by her mother Nancy DuPont Cooch; her two sisters Polly Savage and Cynthia Farris; a brother William Reynolds; three loving daughters Barbara Miller, Allison Hodgdon, and Catherine Sturges; an adoring son John M. Sturges III; two son-in-laws, Michael A. Miller and her special Samuel Thomas (Tommy) Hodgdon; one cherished daughter in law Shelia Sturges; and the following grandchildren Katie and Billy Miller, Samantha Hodgdon, Hunter and Kayce Kendall, and Michael, Thomas and John David Lincoln, as well as three pets that she treated like kings, Buffy, Digger and one really fluffy, but elusive cat, Simba; so many friends and one beloved chiropractor, Dr. Seitz. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary, 8555 E. Pinnacle Peak Rd., Scottsdale. Reception to follow.

As I write this entry, my eye strays to the "stickie" note on my monitor, from Kay, which reads "Thanks Pegeen! Keep Smiling! Kay". Always sweet, always laughing at life's jokes. I will miss her phone calls and conversations more than I can say. What a wonderful, caring, and generous person she was; and how proud of her children and grandchildren! She made me laugh, and I count myself fortunate to have known her. My deepest condolences to her loving family.

To Kay's Children and Family: While I was deeply sadened by learning of Kay's death, it was such an honor to be able to be with you yesterday to celebrate her life. Over the years, Kay became a special friend and I would always look forward to our phone calls. Her courage and strength were like the great Colorado River-deep and wide. I will miss her and will always cherish our friendship. My thoughts and prayers are with you always.

You have been one of our dearest friends, we have loved much and laughed often. We are glad that we were able to be there for you during the past 9 months-if it weren't for you we wouldn't be the people we are today or the couple we have become. We know you are now at peace and pain free. Thank you for being our friend. We love you and we will miss you.
