Leslie Raatz Obituary

Raatz, Leslie Carl
85, died April 23, 2010. He was born in Manistee, MI on June 23, 1924, and was the son of the late Albert and Mamie Raatz. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Audrey, with whom he had a 58 year love affair. They were residents of Sun City, AZ, Dunedin, FL, and Elmhurst, IL. His military service was with the Army Air Corps in World War II and his career of 30 years was as a commercial airline pilot with Wisconsin Central, North Central and Republic Airlines. Les was known for his great sense of humor, kindness and love of family. A self-taught musician, Les played the guitar, piano, accordion and slide-guitar. He and Audrey loved to travel the world, going on safari in Africa, visiting Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Central America, etc. Les was a wonderful husband and father and will be deeply missed. He is survived by son, Les Raatz (Debbie) of Phoenix, AZ, and daughter Lori R. Williams (James) of Milton, GA, grandchildren, John, Katherine, Jeffrey and Laura, and nieces. Interment will be on June 18, 2010, at Oak Grove Cemetery , Manistee, MI. Express condolences to [email protected]
