Lillian Drury Obituary

Lillian W. Drury, 88 of Phoenix, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2007. Lillian was born in Springfield, Illinois on Sept 8, 1918. She moved with her husband, Donald F. Drury and 3 sons, to Phoenix in 1952. Lillian was very active in the Camelback Organ Club and served, with pride, as President for many years. Lillian was a long time member of the Central United Methodist Church. She was a member of the order of the Eastern Star Glendale Chapter. Served as a past president of the local P.T.A and was president of the Central Avenue Methodist Church Women's Circle for many years. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a joyful and caring woman. Lillian's passing was recently preceded by her loving husband, of 66 years, Donald F. Drury, passed away on May 24, 2007. "They have rejoined in heaven". She was also preceded in death by daughter-in-law Candy Drury of Astoria, OR. Lillian is survived by 3 sons Donald (Sandy) Drury of Scottsdale, Dr. Richard L. (Nancy Wells) Drury of Jamesville, VA and David L. Drury (Candy) of Astoria OR. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren: Craig A. Drury, of Phoenix, Michael S. Drury, of Scottsdale, Robert L. Drury, of Topsham, ME, Lee Anne Drury McMurry, of Williamsburg, VA., Kate B. Drury of Astoria, OR and 2 great grand children, Clare Lee McMurry and Mary Wells McMurry, of Williamsburg, VA. The family offers a special thank you to the caring staff at beatitudes and Hospice of the Valley for their loving care and support during her final days. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Greenwood Memory Lawn Serenity Chapel 719 N. 27th Ave. Phoenix, AZ. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Hospice of the Valley 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014.
