Lucy Mae Anderson nee Bowman, 82, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 8, 2007. Lucy was born in Brook, Indiana July 2, 1925. She married the late Henry V. Anderson in 1943. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson settled in Scottsdale in 1962 with their family following a long-time dream and warmer weather. Mrs. Anderson relished in her role as a homemaker, mother, and grandmother. We will all miss her Christmas Eve parties and her oatmeal cookies. She is predeceased by her husband, eight sisters, one brother, and her grandson Scott Bowman. Left to cherish her memory are sisters, Julia Burrell and Rachel Brewer of Indiana, and Helen (Lou) Sheehan of Phoenix, brother-in-law Kennard Brunton and sister-in-law Beverly Funk both of Indiana, children John Anderson of Scottsdale, Albert (Judy) Anderson of Phoenix, Floyd (Jodie) Anderson of Scottsdale, and Cathy (Ray) Nancollas of Mesa. In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

We will miss you very much. You were there with open arms to accept all who came into your home. Our hearts ache now, but only shortly, for we know that you are among the angels, watching over all you have touched.

I won't forget how grandma read to me every night when I was visiting, sometimes the same book over and over. I have great memories, happy ones, that I will cherish forever. I love you grandma.
