Marc Kaplan Obituary
Marc Jeffrey Kaplan, 57, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away tragically on August 22, 2015. Born on September 14, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio, Marc attended the University of Cincinnati and graduated with a degree in business and communications. He went on to become an extremely successful entrepreneur and proud owner of the Sun City Rays senior league baseball team. Marc was a loving father to his children Brian and Lauren and the most loyal friend to their mother, Marci. He was a brilliant, kind, generous, handsome, successful, respected businessman and was loved very much by his family, friends and all who knew him. His favorite pastimes included watching and attending sporting events with son, Brian, Tim McGraw concerts with daughter, Lauren, spending time and caring for his beloved dog, Angie, and just being in the presence of his best friend and lifelong companion, Marci. Marc loved doing anything and everything that had to do with Marci and his children, especially his pride and joy, grandson, Clark. He was expecting two more grandchildren and was so excited at the anticipation of their arrivals. More than anything else, Marc was a dad, a grandpa and a best friend and he will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his father Robert and brother Lee. He is survived by his mother Barbara, his beloved Marci, son Brian (Jill) Kaplan & grandson Clark, daughter Lauren (Luke) Gilbert, sister Marla (Brad) Johnson, brother-in-law Alan (Peggy) Lipp and nieces & nephews Alyssa & Jared Johnson, Libby Kaplan, Jordan, Kevin & Alison Lipp. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, 24210 N. 68th St., Phoenix, AZ 85024. Memorial contributions may be made to Banner University Medical Center Behavioral Health Unit, West Tower, 111 E. McDowell Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85006 or Halo Animal Sanctuary, 2500 S. 27th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85009. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.

Finding the reminder in my inbox was bittersweet. I felt sadness and shock at how swiftly the time has passed since Marc left this world. But also a great sense of pleasure warmed the edges of my heart. I knew Marc. I was blessed to have spent part of my college years and beyond with someone who embraced life and had a sense of gusto and humor. He lived larger than anyone I knew and I loved him for it. Blessings to all his dear family as they remember. No one is ever really gone as long as memory lives in the heart. In loving sympathy and peace.

Marci I just learned of Marc's passing my deepest sympathies to you and your family. Although Marc and I did not stay in touch with one another, having him as my roommate at UC was some of the happiest most enjoyable times of my life. May he rest in peace

Happy Birthday Marc. I know you were looking forward to going to the Dbacks game today and were hoping to have a wonderful birthday with the kids and grandson today. I'm sure you are on everyone's mind today and in our hearts. You loved everyone so hard and so deeply and so many loved you. You had an amazing heart and tried to protect all those you loved in your own way. Rest in peace and know you are tremendously loved and always will be.

We remember when! As young children in Cleveland. Neighbors and close friends. Our three kids and the Kaplan kids playing. The oldest of them all being Marc at 7 years old. Good times. Times to remember. Then both families many years later in Arizona. Will always remember you, Marc. Fran and Harvey
