Marcia Moore Obituary

Moore, Marcia "Martie" L.
75, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away surrounded by family in her home on July 19, 2016, following a long, courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Martie was born Marcia Louise Lincoln on March 29, 1941. She was raised in Mansfield and Woodstock, Ohio and married her high school sweetheart, Leslie Moore, on August 20, 1961 and raised two daughters. Leslie's work brought them to Scottsdale in 1992 where they soon were surrounded by their current "cul de sac family." Her smile and spirit lit up a room. She knew no stranger and saw the good in all people. Her faith in Christ was evident by her positive outlook and sacrificial love poured out to all. She truly was joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer. She was in her element when family, friends, and food were involved. She was a fervent hometown sports fan and typically chose her favorite players based on their ethics and manners. She loved gatherings of friends and family, conversation, music, maintaining photo displays of friends and family, creating a warm and organized household, serving others, and any event where food was being prepared or served. As a childcare provider in Scottsdale, she played a significant role in shaping the lives of many children and their young parents. She is preceded in death by Grace and George Lincoln (parents). She is survived by Leslie Moore (husband); Holly and Hope Moore (daughters); Hank Peter Jedema (son-in-law); Kent and Kay Lincoln (brother and sister-in-law); Charlene and Joe Stapleton, Clyde and Vicky Moore, and Doug and Barbara Moore (sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law); and a long list of extended family and friends who will hold her in their hearts as long as they live. A memorial service will be held at Scottsdale Bible Church in the Grace Chapel on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in the honor of Marcia L. Moore to the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org).

Dear Les and family,
It was with great sadness we learned of Marcia's death. I have such fond memories of her and visiting your place in Ohio. I particularly recall her terrific sense of humor.
Of course, you gave me my first taste of celebrity when you appointed me flower girl at your wedding! Please know, you are all in our thoughts.

Dearest Moore Family,
Please know we are praying for you during this difficult time. We loved Martie very much and are blessed that she was our friend and neighbor.
Tyler and Ali have so many special memories of spending time with Martie. She was so great with the kids in the neighborhood and helped to shape many young lives in such a positive way.
We will never forget the neighborhood get togethers, her music, kind heart and pennies at Halloween.
Martie loved Les and her kids so much and she was so proud of all of you. She is with you always. God bless you all. Heaven has a beautiful angel and we all will have pennies from heaven.
All our love,
The Reed Family
