Margaret Sigler Obituary

Margaret Lawler Sigler, 86, of Columbia, Missouri died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at University Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Margaret was born on July 27, 1921 in Dwight, Illinois the youngest child of George and Johanna Burke Lawler. She was very proud of her Irish heritage. She married Orles Brown Sigler on January 16, 1943 and he survives. They met while both were employed by State Farm Insurance Company in Bloomington, Illinois when Margaret passed Orles's office on roller skates as she delivered the mail. They were married and remained sweethearts for 64 wonderful years. Margaret was an Avon representative for 20 years in Columbia before she and Orles retired to Mesa, Arizona. She was dearly loved for her humor, grace, spirit, patience and kindness by her daughters, Diane Cook of Columbia and Kathleen Dorsey and husband Gary of Greeley, Colorado; daughter-in-law Robin Sigler of Scottsdale, Arizona; grandchildren David Cook and wife Christina of Topeka, Kansas; Daniel Cook of Columbia; Andrea Dorsey of Ft. Collins, Colorado; Andrew and Cary Sigler of Scottsdale; great-grandson Dylan Cook of Topeka; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters and son, Timothy Sigler. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, gifts be made to the charity of donor's choice.
