Maria Vaughan Obituary
Maria Esmeralda Garcia Sagarribay Vaughan entered into eternal peace on June 15th, 2017. Maria was born on July 7th, 1940 in Madrid, Spain to Julia (YaYa) and Vicente Garcia. Maria was a parishioner at St. Anne Roman Catholic Parish in Gilbert, Arizona, where she especially enjoyed participating in Sunday Mass delivered by Father Sergio, also from Spain. Listening to Father Sergio always brought her a little closer to the Spanish culture that she so adored. Maria will be remembered as a woman of steadfast faith and undeniable strength, who loved and cherished her family and friends. Maria is preceded in death by her beloved mother YaYa, her father Vicente, and her loyal dog Lola. Maria is survived by her three children Julia Sinodis (John), Floyd Vaughan (Donya) and Cristina Fonseca (Dan), and her former husband Floyd Vaughan Jr. (Joyce). Maria is also survived by the true loves of her life, her seven grandchildren, Johnny Sinodis, Michael Sinodis, Taylor Sinodis, Tanner Fonseca, Kylie Fonseca, Devon Vaughan and Tatum Vaughan. Each of them will miss her dearly. Maria will be remembered in Spain by her devoted family Julita De Roa Garcia, Luis Margalejo (Estrella, Natalia), Aracelli Margalejo (Fernando, Olaya), Leandro Callaba De Roa (Pilar, Maria, Paloma, Carmen), Antonio Callaba De Roa (Lidia, Pablo, Miquel), Julio Callaba De Roa (Concha, Julia, Barbara), and Juan Sanchez Munoz (Maripili, Juan, Paula, Theresa, Santiago). A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on July 7th, 2017, at St. Anne Roman Catholic Parish located at 440 E. Elliot Road, Gilbert, AZ 85234. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maria's memory may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org), Go With Courage, Inc. (www.gowithcourage.org), St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), https://philanthropy.mayoclinic.org/donatemc, www.hov.org or a charity of your choice. Condolences may be made at www.qohcfh.org. Arrangements entrusted to Queen of Heaven Catholic Funeral Home, Mesa, AZ.
