Marjorie Anne "Robin" Fuqua

Marjorie Fuqua Obituary

Marjorie Anne ("Robin") Fuqua

- - Marjorie Anne ("Robin") Fuqua passed away on February 14, 2018, at age 93. Robin was born Marjorie Anne Rickard to Claude Ray and Maude Rickard in Missouri. Her father died while she was quite young, leaving Robin to be raised by her mother Maude and her second husband, Charles Hahn.

Robin had one child, Lynnette Anne Johnson, by her first marriage to George K. Eisenbarg. Lynnette predeceased her mother only the month before Robin passed away.

During the late 1940's and early 1950's, Robin traveled around the Midwest, singing and playing guitar and making many dear friends before meeting and marrying the love of her life, John Howard Fuqua, and moving to Arizona in 1961. Howard predeceased Robin in 1970. After Howard's death, Robin was very active in a number of areas, becoming a founding member of the Phoenix Friends of C.G. Jung and an active member in her Scottsdale Soup Group. Robin even overcame her fear of heights, helping build the roof of the Franciscan Renewal Center. Robin's many interests, and her gracious and radiant personality were a light to all who knew and loved her.

Robin was my grandmother, Betty Bryan Craft's dearest friend! My grandmother loved Robin so much and I am certain they are playing music together in heaven!! I remember having lunch with Robin and her daughter in Arizona about six years ago after I started caring for my grandmother & I will cherish that memory forever!!

I met Margie when she was performing in Anaconda, Montana in 1957. She had never been to Montana, and she and Lynette ended up living with us while she was singing at the Turf Club. My 8th grade graduation happened while she was there, and she sang for our party. That was a big deal to have a live performer!. She laughed when I told her that last year. She and my mother kept in touch for years. She was always so generous with us, and with everyone she knew. Margie ( I always thought of her as Robin) was an unforgettable personality. I and my classmates of St. Paul's Catholic School, class of 1957, will always remember her.
