Mark Applegate Obituary
57 of Paradise Valley, AZ, passed away on December 6, 2009. Mark, eldest son of David and June (Kindell) Applegate, was born in Orange, California. He moved to Arizona 30 years ago from his childhood home of Guam. Mark was a devoted husband, father and family man and mentor to many. Mark and Judy were influential leaders within the construction industry in Arizona. He is survived by his loving wife Judy Applegate; parents David & June Applegate, sons Ryan Applegate, Stephen Applegate, Michael Rames and Curtis Rames; brother Kent Applegate; sisters Linda Winn and Victoria Garrett and 5 grandchildren. Service will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, December 11, 2009 at Valley View Bible Church, 4222 E. Lincoln Dr., Paradise Valley, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to AZ Humane Society or the AZ Heart Assoc. Arrangements by Hansen Mortuary. Please visit www.hansenmortuary.com to send online condolences.

I really enjoyed spending time with Mark and his family. He always kept me laughing over a story or thinking about some type of business aspect.
We had fun playing family tennis or just relaxing in the backyard.

As I seat here missing you so much, I feel your right here with me sweetheart. It's frightening to be here without you Mark but I know, The Lord will have us together again. I WILL hold the family together and do what would make you proud of me. Keep looking over us. I LOVE YOU.

It has been years since we have seen one another. My heart was saddened to hear of Mark's passing. I feel blessed to have known Mark.
I have wonderful memories of our lives in Arizona together and think of you often.

You are on my mind, Mark, again today and it is so nice to read these thoughts of everyone to get the comfort they bring to my heart. You are the greatest big brother in the world. You looked after me and I know you still are looking at me from heaven. I'm smiling, Mark, because I just love your wife and boys and their wives and your grandchildren and our mom and dad and sister and brother and Jac, Wendy, Marcia, Megan, Kevin, Jessica, Randy, Shauna, Lindsay, Jesse, Paul and Josh and Lindsay, Jerry, Shiela, Amy, Suzie, Steve and all your friends from Guam and Arizona so much. We are closer to Jesus now and closer to each other but you started it by you and Judy having parties for us at your home in AZ. Jesus is keeping us linked tight now as we share so much about you, Mark. You are an awesome family man and so smart with business and a patriot too. I miss you.

May God richly bless you all in your time of loss. I was friends with Linda as a youth/child on Guam. Mark was my eldest sister's age, so I was only vaguely aware of him in Harmon Village. I hurt with you in your loss.

My sincere condolences to the Applegate family. I knew Mark while attending JFK High School and we were even in the same swim team (Manukai) along with sister Vicki and on a couple of classes. We lost touch after I moved to the mainland but I will always remember Mark as a good friend and teammate.

Judy i wish i had the words to say to comfort you.i want to be there so much for you and the boys. we all lost so much that day and it hurts so bad.now mark lives in our hearts and will be the angel that looks over all of us.i can't bring to words how i feel.i just love you and boys.

To the Applegate family, I knew of Mark when he attended JFK with my older brother and sister. I too went to school there and were classmates of Kent and Vicki, infact playing tennis with Vicki in the tennis club. The Applegate family was always well respected. Dear Judy,
Our condolences to you and your family. I played football with Mark while he attended high school in Guam. My wife was a classmate with his sister, Vicki, as well.

I worked for Mark Applegate for over 5 years. The past 2 1/2 years I have had the opportunity to work WITH Mark. He taught me so much and was one of few people in this world I truly looked up to and respected. He had a great sense of humour and always had a wise crack of some sort for me daily. I will miss him dearly. I am lucky to have known him, and know I am a better person for it. My warmest thoughts and prayers go out to the Applegate family as well as his 2nd family here at work. We will all get through this by leaning on one another for support. This is a devastating loss for all...

Judy and family,
I am so sorry to hear about Mark. I was just telling the story about being in your office and looking at the picture on the wall of the little boy using the potty chair and asking if it bothered your son having that picture hanging in your office. Your answer was "not at all, that is his father."
That will be my memory of Mark.
