Michael Stein Obituary

Stein, Michael "Mike"
65, of Scottsdale passed away on November 2, 2014. Michael is survived by his children, Kimberly Rachael Stein and Katie Zink; grandchildren Scarlett and Lily Zink and Ella Vilmar; sons-in-law Jack Zink and Sam Eddington; brother Steven Stein and sister Sandra Block; and partner, Ruth Wachs. Michael was born in Chicago on June 2, 1949, to Leo and Ruth Stein. He worked in sales for twenty years, until realizing his dream of opening a hot dog restaurant in Atlanta in 2005. When the restaurant closed, he moved back to Chicago, and then to Phoenix for his remaining years. Michael was a doting grandfather, a rabid Chicago sports fan, and a lifelong art lover. He enjoyed traveling, music (from classic rock to chamber orchestras), movies, and most of all, spending time with the people he loved. His contagious smile and his generous spirit will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service took place on November 4, at Sinai Mortuary in Phoenix.
