Michael Winney Obituary

Winney, Michael
Michael James Winney peacefully passed on May 2nd, 2015. Born in Sydney, Australia on May 10th, 1944, to Arthur Lou Winney and Ellen Fraser, an Australian he met while Arthur served his country in WWII. They moved to the U.S. where Michael became a U.S. citizen at 14. He continued to live the American dream as he became a husband and started a family. Michael successfully ran his own company (Allied Fleet Products) in Arizona for 35 years until his passing. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Jean; his daughter Melinda; his son Keith; and brothers and sisters Catherine, Chris, Mary, Judy, Brian, Chet and Paul. Michael was and will continue to be loved and forever missed, as he finds soulful peace at rest. Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, May 7th, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6180 W. Utopia Rd. Glendale, AZ 85308. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in the name of Michael Winney, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I was privileged to meet Mike on 2 occasions and was struck by his honesty and integrity, I for one will not forget him. My thoughts and prayers to Jean and the family at this time. RIP mike.
