. Thank you for keeping the guest book open. I just read in "The Torch" that Missie had passed away in March this year. I am so sorry for your loss. I was a classmate of Missie's at Dominican HS and I grew up in Arabi, La. I will always remember her smile, her laugh, and her love for life. She touched the hearts of everyone she met. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Gerard, Nicolle and Danielle - I just learned (today 8/7/2013)) about your Missie's passing. Words can never express how much she meant to me. She was an extremely awesome (first-class) lady - truthful, kind and loving to all of you. Her life revolved her love for your family. Gerard, Missie adored you and every time we spoke, she expressed her love for you. I wish I had known earlier. I will keep Missie (and all of you) in my prayers along with Pe-Paw. Please . . . please . . . let me know what I can do for u. I am always here if you need me. With deepest sympathies. Respectfully, Ann Daunoy (Pe-Paw and Ann)

I've know Missie since first grade, and have fond memories of our lives growing up together in Chalmette. She was a beautiful soul then and I can see that never changed through the years from the wonderful notes here. My thoughts and prayers are with you Jerry, Ms. Marilyn and all of your family.

Dear Nickie and family....I am so sorry to read about the passing of your mom in the Catholic Sun. It was a nice story. I remember the days when we met at BCHS. It was my pleasure to be your teacher and to get to know your mom during that time. She was one of the most delightful people I have ever met. I know she will be missed by many as she touched the hearts of countless numbers of people during her short time on this earth. As she looks down on us from Heaven, may you find comfort in knowing she is at peace, sitting along side Our Heavenly Father.

I was so very saddened to read of Missie's passing. I had the privilege of getting to know and work with her at St. Vincent de Paul School. She was so very dedicated to the school as well as all of the students, parents and staff. As we both moved on it was always a joy to see her at various events. Her warm smile and wonderful laugh will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace and those of us left behind find comfort in knowing she is with the Lord and smiling down on us. My sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with her family.

My heart sank when I read about Missie's passing, and my heart goes out to your entire family at the loss of her. She fought the good fight, she kept the faith, she never gave up or gave in, and she ran her race with perseverance & endurance. Now she has crossed the finish line and is receiving her eternal rewards ... and has no doubt heard these welcoming words: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant!"

Our hearts are breaking at the loss of Missie. Truly she was an angel among us, a blessing in so many lives. I have many fond memories. Missie was in the first class of the AFP Mentor Program, and did she ever WOW us with her warmth, humor, charm, eagerness, commitment, and more. She went on to serve the chapter tirelessly for many years, on committees and the board, for which she served as President. One year we both earned AFP scholarships to attend the international conference in Miami, FL. What a time we had! A better traveling and learning companion one could not have. We were all so happy for her when her peers honored her as AFP Outstanding Fundraising Executive.
But Missie's greatest love was her husband and girls. She poured everything she had into their lives. She was a model of loving submission to her family. Her face always shone with such great pride when she spoke of each of their many accomplishments.
Yes, Missie "the angel among us" will be dearly missed by so many. But heaven is rejoicing at her return! Thank you, Lord, for allowing us 56 wonderful years with Missie.

Gerry I heard about Missie's death from Anne Suarez Fabian last night. We attended Dominican together and I shared a room with her at Southeastern for one semester. I transferred to UNO the next semester because of family concerns but I am thankful I had a chance to get to know her. Reading the guest book I can see she has not changed in all these years, still the warm gracious lady.

Missie left us too soon but we are blessed with a variety of great memories. She always had a way of making everyone she met feel special…maybe it was her accent! I will always remember the times Missie & I had working at SVDP School. She planned every event and knew just how she wanted it to be…always just right! Missie set up the Putt-Putt Team as part of the SVDP Golf Tournament, which she also started, to get us non-golfers involved. (Good thing she didn't set up the rules because we play by our own rules! )
Gerard, Danielle, & Nicole always know Missie was a much respected and loved woman who spent her life living her Catholic faith to the fullest. She will always remain in the hearts of us all. I hope this will bring you all some peace in the days and months to come.
