Nick Harris Obituary

Harris, Nick C.
On May 5, 2014, at the age of 69, Nick Harris passed away with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, son Brian and by two grandsons.
He was a loving husband, wonderful father and great grandfather. He will be sorely missed. Born in Pocatello, Idaho, Col (Ret) Harris led soldiers in the service of his country including tours in Vietnam, Germany and various posts through-out the U.S. After retiring from the U.S. Army, he sought new challenges with American Express, where he rose to senior leadership positions. In spite of his measurable accomplishments, Col. Harris will be remembered for his steadfast concern for people including his family, friends, soldiers, and quite nearly everyone he met. During his brigade command, he established a state-of-art daycare with unprecedented availability to aid young soldiers often separated from their family on their first tour overseas. He was fundamental in the building of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Nick was my best friend in Grade School. We played together fought each other and went to Sunday School together. I knew both his mom and dad and they treated me as their own. I often thought about Nick and things we did in our neighborhood.
I am thankful to learn the many accomplishments and personal giving thatt Nick experienced throughout his life. Del (Butch) Davis.
