Nivla Hatch Obituary
of Gilbert, AZ passed from this life to the next on Friday, March 30, 2012.She was serving a mission with her eternal companion, Norece, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints in Cordoba, Argentina. Born Dec. 10, 1945, she was raised and lived her life in Gilbert. She lived a life of service. At the age of 21 she served an LDS mission to Northern California. After graduating from cosmetology school, she married Norece Leonard Hatch on June 7, 1969 in the Mesa AZ Temple. She held many callings in the church, but her favorites were that of a wife and a mother. She leaves behind her husband Norece, and 9 children: Shamaine (Mike) Wright; Titia (Marcus) Mann; Cody (Melanie) Hatch; Yana (Keevin) Reidhead; Cozette (Sean) Fox; Tima (Nick) Hird; Toah Hatch; Taffy (DJ) Sherwood; and Koay (Rianne) Hatch, as well as 39 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters: Metzie (Reed) Phelps and Shelli Lamoreaux; brothers: Rex (Cathi) Lamoreaux, Edwin (Linda) Lamoreaux and Dave (Donna) Lamoreaux; her mother-in-law, Dorothy (Dot) Hatch; and brother and sisters in-law with uncles and aunts and extended family and friends who loved her. She was preceded in death by her father Alvin, her mother Melba, and her brother Rig. A celebration of her life in lieu of a viewing will be held Sun., Apr. 8, from 6-8pm at the San Tan Stake Center, 4170 S. Ranch House Pky, Gilbert AZ 85297. Services will be held Mon., Apr. 9, at 9:00am also at the San Tan Stake Center. She had a one of a kind smile that was shared with all she came in contact with and a testimony of Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund.

I love and miss Nivla although I know she still lives and is serving as she always did here. She was a ray of sunshine, fun loving and full of interest in others. She was always serving and assisting all those around her. I will always hold her as a great example of Christlike love.

We express our gratitude to our Father in Heaven for the positive influence Nivla and Norece have had on our family over the years. Nivla has a wonderful family who have a strong faith in the Lord. All of us know deep in our hearts there is a loving Heavenly Father who has created each of us, who awaits our return to live with Him again. I was able to see Nivla right before she left on her mission. She came to my office for a hearing checkup just to make sure everything was in order for her mission. I was happy to see her. I have known Nivla for over thirty years, and I don't think I had ever seen her look so pretty, so excited and and so happy as she was when she came to my office that day. She was absolutely glowing. She was so very excited to be serving the Lord. We talked for a good while and had a wonderful visit. I'm thankful that that will be how I remember her...radiant, and happy to be serving the Lord. Thank you Nivla and Norece for influencing my life for the better. I love you both.

Our Father in Heaven has taken home one of His beloved servants. She was a light to all of us that worked with her at the Mesa Arizona Temple. She will be missed but her light will shine on through those she left behind.

Today is Easter Sunday, what a wonderful day to spend thinking about my big "little sister". I know she left this life doing what she wanted to do. She has always set an example of Christ like love, she continues to set the example. How I love her. The reason for this season hits so close to me today, Jesus Christ lives and Nivla is getting to be with and remember all she did with him before this life and learning what she will now be doing. We were so saddened to learn of the death of sweet Sister Nivla Hatch. We'd only met her the day before while at a zone conference in Catamarca, Argentina. The Lamoreaux and Hatch families become a part of mine when I first came to Gilbert.It was always a treat to go into Nivla's kitchen (which she loved )and partake of some of her home baked goodies.She could light up a room with her smile and who could mistake her Melba laugh,which I'm glad Shelli also has.May God bring peace to you all at this time. Sending my love and condolences to the Hatch and Lamoreaux families. Shelli is a dear friend and her sister Nivla always treated me as a friend when she saw me at functions which i appreciated. She was always one to jump in and help, never getting frazzled and always with a positive contagious upbeat attitude. She had wit and spunk (I think all the Lamoreauxs do!)and was always fun to be around.Her daughters were always first up clearing tables/cleaning/bringing food and i always thought Nivla must be a wonderful mom because her girls step up and serve like she does. Nivla was a wonderful cousin. I remember with such fondness our times laughing and visiting at Tenney Reunions at Camp-O-Rama. She has a special place in my heart. We were born just three days apart, but I always looked to her as a great role model. My prayers are with all of you.

I'm grateful I was able to know Nivla through her sister Shelli. She was a great example of charity. I remember her cooking on large scales and it not phasing her at all, especially her delicious texas sheet cake. I send my love and hope in the Savior to the Hatch and Lamoreaux families.
