Patrick Rink Obituary

Patrick Michael Rink, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, friend passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 2nd. He began his life in Buffalo, New York and spent the past 34 years working in the food and wine industry and raising his families in Phoenix. Patrick was a gentle man who always saw the good in everything and everyone. His positive attitude and outlook was inspirational as was his enthusiasm for life. Patrick was a true renaissance man and was passionate about family, music, food and wine, art, and agave plants among many other things. He was an avid music lover as evidenced by his ability to play multiple instruments, an extensive CD and LP collection and overall knowledge of the music industry. His most cherished music memories were with his garage band the Anchovies, in which he was a founding member. He was an excellent cook and took pleasure in being host to his family and friends. Patrick was the fine wine Marketing Manager for the Republic National Distributing Company where he was employed for 17 years. His job allowed him to travel the world and satisfy his appetite for fine wine and food. Patrick's legacy lives on with his wife Nancy and three children Chris (Laura), Stephanie, Natalie and brothers Jamie, David and Peter and many cherished family members and friends. His love of family was boundless. The Memorial Service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church 6300 N. Central Ave Phx, AZ 85012 at 4 PM Tuesday Jan 8th. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in the name of Patrick to the American Heart Association at www.honor.american heart.org and/or the Desert Botanical Garden at www.dbg.org.

I will always remember growing up with Patrick and the rest of the Rink's. We were almost like one big family. My mom and his mom grew up together and remained friends until death. I was fortunate enough to have Pat and Peter stay at my house when their mom died and I will never forget the night of tears and laughter. I will always be greatful for some of the best memories of my life with Patrick and his brothers. He will never be forgotten.

Nancy, although I only had the pleasure of meeting Pat once - it was such a lovely Phoenix spring evening by Anna's pool where we all chilled with interesting conversation and fab wine- he immediately impressed me as being someone special.

My heart is with you and Natalie and Pat's other children during this dark and difficult time.

Wishing you peace.
