In the early hours of October 24th, a beautiful light flickered out. Arizona native, Raelene Smith, born Raelene Reynolds, passed away at the age of 66, in her home, surrounded by family. She is survived by her loving husband Arthur Smith of 40 years; four children, Michael Smith, Robyn Smith, Thomas Smith, Mary Smith; Grandson Lukas Smith; and many grandpuppies. I remember Raelene from Central Highschool. We were both in the same graduating class, the class of '69. I knew her casually from classes we took.
At the time, she liked to be called Rae. I remember her as pleasant, friendly, and a dedicated student.
I also remember she held an interest in law enforcement, which she carried over to her work at Phoenix College, where I also attended, where she worked security and occasionally tagged cars in the parking lots of the college, and where I last remember her.
I am grieved at your loss.
According to what has been written about her, Raelene had a life of service to her community, and love of her family.
One cannot have a fuller or richer life than that.
My condolences and blessings to her family and those that love her.

Raelene,

You were the "rock" of our neighborhood. We'll take care of Art for you! That's a promise! We'll also take care of the kids.

We remember playing in each others yards and mowing of each of our grass cuttings days. We remember all the concerts with Clarendon & Central. All the football games, parades, etc! They were the "best" memories. We remember all the times you didn't understand your homework so you came over to see Jim so he explained it to you. We'll keep the many stories of our neighborhood alive. Thanks for being such a great neighbor!

We remember all the Christmas (all night) we had at Christmas. Our parents would put a pot of coffee on & we would be wrapping packages & baking and getting the turkey prepared for the next day. Our moms would be back & forth every 2 hours. We had such fun in those days! Very enjoyable & wonderful times!

You were taken from us "way" to soon!

We will always remember you, the great times we had and miss you always!

We never said it much but we "LOVED" you!!

My very deep condolences to the family. Colossians 3:15 gives the encouragement to "let the peace of the Christ rule in your hearts". May this peace comfort you at this difficult time.
