Mraz, Richard Bernard
63, of Surprise, died January 1st, 2009, after a year long battlewith Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carrie, and father, Richard Sr. 50 minutes after Rich left us, his mother, Dolores, 90, of Ft. Wayne, IN, followed him in his journey to heaven. He is survived by his wife, Sandy, of 38 1/2 yrs. Rich also leaves behind his 3 sisters: Earlenne (David) Friend, of Ione, CA, Rita (David) Bubb of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Debbie (Chuck) Cross of Plant City, FL, and 10 nieces and nephews. Rich was born in Elyria, OH, and graduated from Kent State University in 1970. He and Sandy moved to Phoenix in 1973. Rich worked as a salesman, and also had his own landscaping company for many years. The last job he held was at Dillards Arrowhead. He was past HOA President of Kingswood Parke in Surprise. Rich will be greatly missed and in our hearts forever. The Memorial Service will be on Saturday, January 10th, at 11:00 a.m. at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 3877 N. 7th St., Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ 85014 and/or Hospice of the Valley.

Sandy, We were so sorry to hear of Rich's recent death.We know you had many happy years together and we hope you were able to share special times during his illness as he walked his path to eternity. I'm sure it was a comfort to him to have you as a loving wife for so many years.

I was very saddened to hear of Rich's passing. I met Rich while working at Dillard's in 2002 and became friends with him and Sandy, before moving back to the Chicagoland area in 2005. Rich was a great guy and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
