Ricky, my grandson, thank you for making the trip to see me and helping to celebrate with me my 80th birthday. It was so nice to see all of you. If your grandmother was alive, she would have seen the nice young man you had become. We were very proud of you and are so sorry you had to leave us. May God always be with you and your son, and my daughter and her family. Know that I think of you often. Love, Grandpa Cohen P.S. After all the years of writing letters to you, this is definitely the hardest and the saddest one, I wish I didn't have to write.
My fondest memory of you, will be the time you gave me the unicorn glass box, you found at a yard sale, with your mom and Brian.You were so proud coming up my driveway, carefully carrying the glass box.You handed it to me and said "I got this for you " I looked at you puzzled, it wasn't my birthday or a holiday.....You then replied " Your like a second mom to me and I know how much you like Unicorns! You touched my heart in a very special way ! I will miss you......alot! God rest your soul !

To our loving son,Ricky: We cannot begin to tell you how much we love and miss you. You know,we remember when you were about three years old,you'd say,"Mommy,Daddy but why for because?" That was your way of asking us,"Why this or why that?" We always answered your questions the best we could. It just doesn't seem fair that we had to lose you so suddenly.......no way for us to ask,"Why for because,Ricky?" Besides,our children are never supposed to go before us. In tragedies like this,we can always wonder why,but there never seems to be an answer;because the person we want answers from are gone........... There's a huge break in our hearts that came with the loss of you. It's a break that will never be repaired. You never had the chance to live your life to the fullest. You struggled your whole life to be the wonderful person you were. You don't have to struggle anymore,son. We know how loving,caring,considerate and thoughtful you were. Any person that crossed your path knows too. You touched so many lives. I just wish you knew how many people really loved and cared about you. We will give your son Andrew the best care and the most love any child could ask for. This,we promise! Though you're not here in body;you'll always be here in our hearts,thoughts and dreams. While we only got to meet Ricky for a short time, we want you to know he touched our hearts in a big way. We will miss those beautiful brown eyes and what a smile! We wish we could have had more time but will cherish our memories of him forever. His cousins, Francis and Zachary thought he was pretty cool and will miss him greatly. We love you with all our hearts and are greatly saddened that Ricky left us so suddenly.

I am Rick's dental assisting instructor at Bryman. We are all deeply saddened by the loss of Rick. We all loved him very much and he was an excellent student and person. He will be missed by anyone who path he has crossed.
