On August 21, 2015, Bob Edens passed away at the age of 68. He was at home when he passed and was surrounded by his family. Bob was born in Queens, New York, July 22, 1947. He was a natural born athlete. Bob excelled at football and wrestling, and was also an avid swimmer and diver. He went to Pennsbury High School in Yardley, PA, and on to Georgia Military Academy. Bob attended Fairleigh Dickenson University in Teaneck, NJ, and University of Maryland, where he received his BS in marketing. Bob joined the U S Army in 1966 and served our country in Vietnam until his honorable discharge in 1969. He worked for KGO Radio/ABC Television as a HR Recruiter in San Francisco and later on worked as Sr. Technical Recruiter for companies such as Cirrus Logic, Sony, and Intel. In 1988 he married his sweetheart and love of his life, Stella Bell of Alameda, CA. They had two sons, Robert and David, and stepson Brian Atkins. He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Stella, son Robert of Mesa, AZ, stepson Brian of Sunnyvale, CA, grandson Derick Atkins of Chandler, AZ, sister Connie Pilla of Wilmington, NC, and many nieces, a nephew, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lilyan and Robert, sister Patricia Mann of Wilmington, NC and his beloved son David of Gilbert, AZ. One of Bob's greatest traits was his charismatic personality and fun sense of humor. For all of those who were lucky enough to have known him, he will truly be missed. Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Sun Valley Community Church, 6101 River Dr., Tempe, AZ 85285. All are welcome to attend the service and celebrate Bob's life.
