We'll miss the laughter, jokes and stories around the Holiday table this year, but we have the hope of seeing each other again. Like the old hymn says, "When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be!" .....until then....

We met Bob Hutchens through his daughter, Kim, when she attended Phoenix Christian. Bob and Kim both stayed in touch over all the years since. He became a good friend. He was a Christian gentleman, a very dedicated police officer, and a great Father and Grandfather. We will really miss you our friend, Bob!

You went so suddenly and way too soon. You were like a father to me and I hate that we lost you so soon. I'll take care of our name. I got it from here.

It is so true in describing Bob what a kind and warm hearted man he was. One of my fondest memories were my partner and I always "running into" Bob and Don Short at Denny's on Tuesday nights (it was potato soup night) !! His warmth will be greatly missed.

Not only was Bob Hutchens one the the nicest Phoenix police officers I ever worked with, he is certainly one of the nicest and most decent men I've ever known. Bob and I rode together when I was a rookie at 700 in 1981. We again worked together as Night Detectives in the late 1990's. He was always even in temperment, a sense of humor second to none, and a splendid human being in every regard. Hutch was a Christian Gentleman in the truest and purest sense of the term. God bless Bob Hutchens. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Goodbye good friend! We were on the same squad in 700 Precinct, and he taught me a great deal. He was definitely a wonderful man and was always so proud of his family. When we would ride together, he always talked about his family. It was apparent to all who knew him how special his children and grandchildren were to him! God bless you Bob....

I was saddened to hear of Bob's passing. We went through detective school together and had a great class.
After I went to GIB, he and I found we had a passion for collecting antique milk bottles. Hutch would share information on some of his finds and we always compared notes when one of us would get a new one to add to our collection.
Hutch was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed.
Rest in peace, Bob.

Hutch,
There are people who touch our lives everyday and we don't realize how until we look back. You were a friend to all that met you, and claim when stuff was in chaos. Rest in peace my friend.

Bob was a wonderful person alwys will to help and the onlything bigger then him was his heart. I had the honor of having him work for me while with the Phoenix P.D.

Anyone who ever met "Hutch" was blessed. He always had a good word for everyone and never dwelled on the negitive. I learned from him professionally as well as personally. He helped me to be a good parent as well as a good friend and person. He deeply loved God, his family and his friends and was always there when anyone was in need of support or a kind word. I loved him like a brother and will miss him so very much. I know that we will all see that crooked smile once again in a better place. God bless his soul and we thank God that we were blessed by having known and loved our dear friend Bob. God rest his soul.

Mr. Hutchens was a wonderful man, Father and Grandfather. He had a huge heart and was the man you wanted to run in to if you were an animal in need of a loving home. His compassion was genuine and his love for his family unrivaled. He will be missed, but never forgotten. May you rest in peace Mr. Hutchens, you certainly earned it.

Hutch will be greatly missed. He was not only a friend but family. His memory will live on in the mountains of Montrose Colorado were he had made his retirement plans with his buddy Ken Proudfit and Ken's wife Sandi. Hutch's kindness was that of no other and can never be duplicated.
We will miss you Hutch, take care of your grandson and all those stray dogs and kitties that are with you now.

Bob was a FRIEND and very rarely had an unkind word for anyone that work with him.
I remember the time we were going thru Detective school out at the academy in 85 and Bob would drives miles out of his way to pick me up since I couldn't drive due to a car accident. He often said "Thats what Friends are for"
YES BOB WAS A FRIEND !!!!
