Robert Widmark Obituary
13, 2006. He was born in Wasta, South Dakota to Ruth and Einar Widmark on September 12, 1920. He and his younger brother, Charles, grew up in Moville, Iowa. At 18, Robert enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country proudly as Chief Petty Officer on the USS Argonne. He served throughout the duration of World War II and was a Pearl Harbor Survivor member until he died. Robert married Iris Loyd Royer in 1943. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a Master's Degree in Journalism. Robert moved his family to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1955. Robert worked for KPHO TV, General Electric Computer Division and Russ Lyon Realty. He is survived by his son Erik, daughter Tamara, grandchildren Jessica, Dallas, Erika, and Jamaal. He was preceded in death by his wife Iris. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 19 at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Pearl Harbor Fund #1 Arizona Memorial Place, Honolulu, Hawaii 96818.
