Rodolfo Canez Obituary

Rodolfo Acedo Canez of Mesa, AZ passed away suddenly on August 31, 2005 at the age of 87. Rodolfo was born in Imuris, Son, Mex to Jose Canez and Jesus Acedo Canez on Jan 3, 1918. He moved to AZ at the age of six and attended Ben Franklin Elementary School in Mesa. He returned to Mexico at the ago of 8. He married his devoted wife, Matilde Alvarez Canez in Imuris on Mar 10, 1943 and had four boys. He worked on his Uncle Francisco Acedo's cattle ranch until he immigrated to CA in 1948 and was a member of the "Bracero Program." In 1950 he moved his wife and his sons to Superior, AZ where they had six more children. He worked for Magma Copper Co. as a Casting Machine Operator until his retirement in 1980. He retired to Mexico in 1980 and returned to Mesa in 2000. Rodolfo is survived by his sons, Jose, Rodolfo Jr., Ramon, Santiago, Arnoldo; daughters, Ofelia, Herlinda and Matilde; sisters, Maria "Meri" V. Hernandez of Mesa, Manuela "Nellie" V. Fraijo of Scottsdale, and Consuelo "Connie" V. Youtzey of Superior. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Julian "Talan" A. Villalobos and Armando A. Villalobos; sister, Josephina C. Martinez, and by his loving sons, Rogelio and Bernardo. He will be greatly missed, never forgotten and his memory and spirit will be with us always and forever. Services will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 141 N. MacDonald, Mesa AZ. Visitation and rosary Tuesday, Sept. 6 from 6-8 p.m. Mass Wed, Sept 7 at 11 a.m. Interment follows at City of Mesa Cemetery. Bunker's Garden Chapel handled the arrangements.
