Ronald Whipple Obituary

Whipple, Ronald (Ron) Gary
of Gilbert, AZ passed away June 8th at the age of 71. He was born on November 29th, 1942 to Alma and Lorraine Whipple in Alexandria, Georgia. He is survived by his wife Karen. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple 48 years ago. He is also survived by his five children Quint (Chelly), Jase (Frank), Chad (Lynn), Bret (Jess), and Marni Davis (Brandon), and fourteen grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Maureen Burbidge (Lynn) and Jeanette Crotchett and his brothers Wayne (Carolyn) and Dale (Miriam), along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was a self-educated man and a tireless entrepreneur. Over the years, Ron could often be found coaching the sports teams of his children, telling elaborate animated stories to his kids and grandkids, growing gardens, reading novels in a day and enjoying his love of movies with his wife at the theater every Friday night, for decades. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served his church with great dedication in countless ways, including his time as a Bishop at Brigham Young University and as a Sunday School teacher in the prison ministries here in Arizona. He had the heart of, and was, a teacher, a lifelong missionary and a mentor to many. He loved fishing, John Wayne and trees. He will be missed by many. The family looks forward to receiving friends at the viewing services on Friday, June 13th from 6-8pm at Bueler Chandler Mortuary at 14 W Hulet Dr. Chandler, AZ 85225 (480) 963-6351. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 14th, at 10:00am at the LDS San Tan Stake Center located at 4170 S. Ranch House Pkwy, Gilbert AZ, 85297

Ron was a VIP in our family history, which you already know. Twice I was able to confide in him when I couldn't to most other people. He had the gift of speaking with love to the errant one without seeming to enable. He was generous of spirit. I love the memory of hearing him talk about your family outings and saying, "We are building memories." He left a bunch of good ones in our hearts. We love you both. XOXO, John & Anne

Karen and family,
Am sorry to hear of your loss, our prayers are with you. He was a great man of integrity who loved to serve and we were blessed because of his service. We enjoyed his story telling at our dinner table and join you in that we will miss him, grateful for the plan of salvation and know that we will see him again.

Dear Karen and family, We love you all so much and are so saddened by Uncle Ron's passing. He always had the best stories to tell and one of the greatest smiles that he passed down to all his kids. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. We wish we had the funds to come out and be a support in person, we hope you feel our love and support from far. Love you all!

Dear Karen and kids, we were sorry to hear of Ron's passing, he was a great helper and influence in our lives. He was our go to guy in anticipating the birth of our son, Brenden, knowing we couldn't get out of our house in the snow, he was going to rescue us. We love your family and miss you in our neighborhood, our loss was Arizona's gain. Our love and best wishes for all of you. Lauren and Georgianne Dalzen
