Ruby Ayala Obituary
Ruby was born Sept. 21, 1936 and passed away on July 26, 2011, after a 5 ½ month illness. She was born and died in Phoenix, AZ and was a very proud Mexican-American. Loving mother, sister, sister-in-law, "Nana", great-grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt, first, second & third cousin and good friend to many. Preceded in death by her mother, Violet, father, Porfirio, 4 sisters, 7 brothers, 2 aunts, 1 uncle. Ruby left behind brothers, Ralph & Louie, sister, Virgie, brother-in-law, John, sisters-in-law, Tencha, Rita, Sharon, & Dolores, daughter, Violet, sons, Joe & Tony, daughters-in-law, Susie, Melody, grandchildren, Alvino, Christine, Evie, Phillip, Deon, Vincent, Sylvia, Christina, Theresa, Celisa, Carmelita, Renee, Amber & Christopher, great-grandchildren, Teresa, Alyssa, Andy Jr., & Leonardo, niece, Gloria M., the Trejo & Brady cousins, first, second & third, approximately 100 nieces, nephews, grand & great-grand nieces & nephews, family friend Chente, and many friends, to carry on her spirit and memories. Ruby did not finish high school but earned her G.E.D. at the age of 55. In life she had many employers but lastly she worked at Motorola as a furnace operator. She belonged to the American Legion, Post 41, as a member of the women's drill team, in the 1970's. In her youth, she learned to dance on stage at Grant park. She enjoyed reading, all kinds of music and playing the guitar and singing. She was known and admired for her resilience, determination and unwillingness to surrender to life's constant battles. Ruby loved her family and her family loved her, her great humor and her generous spirit. She will be dearly missed. Vistation will be held at A. L. Moore-Grisham, 710 W. Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, Wednesday. Aug 3, 2011 from 5-7 pm with funeral services to follow at 7pm . www.ALMoore-Grimshaw.com

Dear Mom, it's been awhile since I visited your book, but I talk to you everyday and post to your FB account. I miss you so much, a lot has happened and I know you are watching over me, with anticipation and patience, for when it's time for me to come see you. It may not be for a while but I know you are okay with that. Watch over Louie, Ralph, Tencha and Virgie. I know you are with me everyday, I feel you, just wish I could talk with you and hold you again and tell you face to face how much I love you. Will come back to visit soon.

Dear Mom, I'm missing you so much. I'm kind of lost without you. I know I have to go on living but you were such a part of my life, that right now I'm not sure how to deal with all of this. I know you would have wanted me to be as strong as I can be and to do what is best for me and I know that I will be doing that soon, but just right now I'm missing you so much. I'm afraid to start crying so much that I may not stop. I didn't know it would feel like this. I was always afraid of losing you but we said that you always wanted to go first. I just didn't think it would be now. I really believed that you were strong enough to come home and live another 10 or 20 years. I finally dreamt of you last night, but in the dream we were arguing because you were going away and I didn't want you to. I guess ultimately that's what I'm feeling right now. I'm upset because you went away and now I have to wait until I die, to see you again. I'm going to try to live my life the way you would have wanted me to. I believe you are up there watching over me and I know that as long as I have you in my heart, you are not very far away. I love you, Violet

Well Mom, the family has gone back to their homes and all have said how much they love and miss you. I look at your picture and still find myself feeling like I'm in a dream and that I'll wake up and you'll be right there. I do believe the ache in my heart will ease, day by day, but I will never be the same without you. There is a piece of my heart in heaven with you and I won't get it back until I see you again. I know you are watching over me and I feel your spirit with me. Please stay close. I love and miss you very much.

Good morning Auntie, the house is quiet, I am having my coffee and am thinking of you. We have a new hummingbird that comes to visit..Hannah says its you coming to say hello. In the fall we bring the feeder in so the hummingbirds can migrate to Mexico like they do every year. Have a wonderful time in Mexico, see you next year. : )

Auntie Ruby give Nana Violet a kiss from all of us. I wonder if Heaven smells like fresh tortillas and the sounds of Spanish Music playing with Auntie Margie twirling around and Auntie Ruby playing the guitar. We were very lucky to be a part of your family. Thank you for being my Mom's big sister. I can't remember a time when you weren't there to pick her up and dust her off and tell her, "Virgie, don't worry I will take care of it". Thank you for being my Auntie. I love you.

I had the great honor and pleasure of getting to know Ruby after she had surgery in 2008. She was a wonderful and courageous woman and I always enjoyed our brief time together when she came to the office. I know she will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Aunt Ruby I met u only a couple of times and u were one of the most sweetest people ive known... Wish we (vince,I,and the kids) coulda been able to be around u more... My sister had to put up with me from birth, even during her honeymoon she took me along. I can't say I remember those days cause I was too young but she told me about the times I spent with her the fisrt 3 or 4 years of my life. I'm glad my brother-in-law put up with me being around them, but knowing my sister he didn't have a choice, lol. Through out the rest of our years she always treated me more then just her little brother. She was a very kind and loving sister to me. I can honestly say that she never got upset with me for anything and if she ever did she didn't show it. Sis please forgive me for not being there for you the day of your surgery. I miss you and will always miss you but.....I'LL SEE YOU AGAIN. May God be with you.
