Ryan Duncan Obituary

Duncan, Ryan
21 of Chandler, Arizona, died in a tragic motorcycle crash in Escondido, California on April 16, 2011. He was born in Meridian, Mississippi on March 3, 1990. Ryan was a class of 2008 graduate of Basha High School in Chandler, Arizona. After graduation, he proudly served as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps (1st Battalion, 4th Marines, Charlie Company, 2nd Platoon) at Camp Pendleton, California. He recently concluded a combat deployment on the USS Peleliu with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, which was in direct support of the Global War on Terror. Ryan was involved in humanitarian operations for ten weeks in direct support of the Pakistani flood victims. Upon returning from the deployment, Ryan was promoted to the position of platoon radio operator and was preparing for an upcoming deployment on the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. Ryan is survived by his parents Jim and Cheryl Braciszewski of Chandler, Arizona, Gary and Teresa Duncan of Chesapeake, Virginia, sister and brother-in-law Kaytlin and Steve Bauer of Tempe, Arizona, Ryan's girlfriend Janet Lee; grandparents Pete and Hazel Lambert of Jacksonville, Florida, and several uncles, aunts and cousins. Ryan lived his life completely on his terms, and he had the full support of his family in doing so. He was a very kind and compassionate young man, yet a tough Marine at the same time. He was a loving son and grandson, an adoring brother, an amazing friend, and an honorable Marine brother. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2010 at 10 AM at Valley of the Sun Funeral Home 1940 E. Chandler Heights Rd., Chandler, AZ. Cheryl and Jim
Cheryl, You gave the world this wonderful child and through your and Jim’s loving guidance, you both channeled him to be the man and Marine he became. He left a legacy of bravery and love of family and friends. Ryan definitely knew the value of laughter. I remember his special love for you and Jim, Pete and Hazel, his sister and cousins (and everyone else too.) He touched everyone’s lives.
Let us live our lives with the ‘Ryan Attitude’!!!

Dear Cheryl and Jim, We hope that your heartache is slowly healing by the outpouring of love and admiration for the life of Ryan. You and Jim are responsible for the kind, loving and brave young man that wanted to protect his country and family. Billy Graham said it well, "Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened." We love you, Uncle Danny and Aunt Ruth

Ryan,God took you to His Loving Home.If LOVE alone could saved you,you never would have died.In life we loved you dearly,in death we love you still. In our heart you hold a place no one else could fill.If tears could only build a stairway to Heaven, and heartache could make a lane, we will walk the path to heaven.and bring you back again. They said memories are golden, maybe that it's true.In tears we saw you sleeping,so peaceful, free from any pain.It broke our hearts to loose you but you did not go alone, for part of us went w/ you.God took you to His loving home and freed you from any pain and secure you from any misery.God gave us a Precious son,a child loaned and we thank God for the privilege given to us, in caring for the gift from Heaven.Ryan, we love you dearly, till we see each other again in Heaven..Your Mom, Dad,Aj and Matthew (Chesapeake Va.)
