Sandra Majewski Obituary

Majewski, Sandra Mary
70, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on December 1, 2012. Sandra died peacefully at home after a four-month battle with cancer. Sandra was born on February 2, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, to Casimir and Bernice Czosek. After graduating from Alvernia High School in 1960 she held secretarial positions at the Arthur Rubloff Company and the Chicago Transit Authority. Sandra met John Majewski in 1963 and they were married in Chicago in 1965. A work transfer brought them to Deephaven, MN, where they raised their three daughters. Sandra and John began to winter in Scottsdale, AZ, and became full-time residents in 2004. Sandra was passionate about working with clay and she studied and met many friends at the Mesa Arts Center and the Sedona Arts Center. She especially enjoyed making pots and hanging totems. Her grandchildren were a special source of joy and happiness. Her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years John (Jack) Majewski, daughters Lisa McGuire (Bill), Karen Majewski, Jennifer Kush (Jason), grandchildren Isabel McGuire, Avery Kush, Chloe Kush, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and many dear friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 8, 2012, at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church, 10755 N. 124 St. Scottsdale, AZ, at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or the Mesa Arts Center Foundation, PO Box 1466, Mesa, AZ 85211.

My heart is broken having lost my wonderful friend Sandy. We met when we worked at the Chicago Transit Authority and immediately became close friends. We were bridesmaids in each other's weddings in 1963 & 1965 and stayed in touch after we each had moved to other parts of the country. I was so happy when Sandy & Jack decided to make their retirement home here in Arizona so we could once again spend precious time together. My memories of her are more than I can count and I will never forget the wonderful times we spent together. I only wish it could have continued. My deepest sympathy to you, Jack, and to your beautiful daughters.

Our hearts go out to all of the Majewski clan. Sandy welcomed us as new neighbors by inviting us into her home. She was a gracious hostess whose house was artfully and tastefully decorated. Sandy had a terrific sense of humor and a wonderful, big smile. And that is the way in which we will always remember her.

To Sandys' Family, I had befriended Sandy at Pottery in the last few years. We both had Emphysema and loved to work with clay so we bonded. She was a lovely person and easy to like. I will miss her very much and my sympathy goes to the Family.

We all loved Sandy. Always upbeat and supportive and truly interested in what project in clay you were working on. I looked froward to seeing her smiling face. She will be missed but always in our memories. Diane Watkins

Jack, Lisa, Karen and Jenny -

Sandy always made me feel so welcome and special whenever I was around her. I appreciated her sense of humor and kindness. I have wonderful memories of our trip together to Paris and London and my family is often wrapped in the beautiful blankets she made for my wedding and the birth of Owen. I always think of her when I pull out my Christopher Radko Christmas Tree ornaments every year. She inspired me to start collecting them. She will always have a special place in my heart.

Much love to each of you and your families during this difficult time.

I am thinking of you all during this difficult time. As I have found recently, it is the happy memories that keep you going and strong. May you all share in those together as a wonderful tribute to a kind and caring woman.

May God bless you all in this time of sorrow and the days to come.

With love,
Karen
