Sheldon Hagen Obituary

Hagen, Sheldon W.
age 57, of Dixon, CA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on November 13, 2015, after a two year battle with cancer. Born in Mesa, AZ, on April 22, 1958, Sheldon grew up in the Phoenix area and attended Starlight Park Elementary School and Trevor G. Browne HIgh School. He joined the U.S. Air Force at age 17 and was stationed at Travis Air Force base in California. After leaving the Air Force, Sheldon enjoyed a career in law enforcement. He retired as Sergeant with the Solano County Sheriff's Office after 21 years' service. Sheldon's greatest joy was his family. He was a dedicated husband and father who gave his all in support of Allison, his beloved wife of 20 years, and his three daughters, Kelly, Chelsea and Hayley. Sheldon enjoyed his role as "Cheer Dad", bass fishing and watching the San Francisco Giants. He was a lifelong fan of rocker Sammy Hagar and attended several concerts per year. Sheldon is survived by his wife Allison; daughters Kelly Lay, Chelsea and Hayley Hagen; his mother Betty Skousen; siblings Randy Hagen, Darrell Hagen and Rhonda Turner; and by his two grandsons, Theo and Oliver Lay. Sheldon was preceded in death by his brother Chipper Hagen. Services include a visitation on November 22nd from 2-5 p.m. and the memorial service on November 23rd at 10:30 a.m. at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home, 569 N. First Street, Dixon, CA.

My friend. Hope they have Rock-n-Roll and fishin’ poles where you’re hangin’ out! I’ve caught some nice ones and thought of you. You’d be proud of those BIG BASS I’ve angled in. Your kids are all good. Miss you. I still play that HSAS tune “Missing You” like we used to do and reminisce about Chipper. I got a super nice, Bluetooth compatible home stereo system for my birthday. I YouTube some of our faves and crank it! The Electric Church is one of my Facebook friends now. I comment on his posts. Always referencing something we used to quote from Live 1980 and the Essential Hagar. Anyway, say hi to my mom. I know she’ll remember you! Love you pal.

The Times

The Times they were fleeting with nary a care, just kinda figured you'd ALWAYS be there. The Times when your eldest child begged , pweaze weed 2 me, to The Time in '98 when we welcomed Hayley. The Times they were life as it happened to be, long, sunny fishin' trips on Lake Apache. The Times they were bitter an oh so sweet, I got to tickle all 3 of your daughters' lil feet. The Times when you'd call and say, Davey, we're gone, grab a toothbrush, some clothes and man it was on! The Times we caught BIG ONES, oh yes, yes indeed, A lantern and a "tackle box" was all we would need. The Times when we wondered how long Times would last, well, those Times sure came and then they went real fast. The Times I've been lakeside without you seem unfair, I'd bait a hook and hear you say, cast it right there! The Times are now shadowed as one reached an end, but I'm glad you'll always be my forever friend.
