Born June 13, 1927, Sonya, daughter of Sam and Jennie, grew up in Berkeley, IL. A skilled seamstress and writer, She attended the University of Illinois where she met and married Norman Brim in August 1948. Sonya is survived by her husband, Norman; children Judy, Marty, and Nancy; son-in-law Isaac; and grandson, Coby. Additionally, she leaves behind scores of loving friends her years in Illinois, New York, and, since 1962, Phoenix. Sonya was a dedicated early elementary school teacher; golfer; bridge player and homemaker. She loved attending basketball and baseball games (a faithful Suns and Cubs fan); and thoroughly enjoyed live theater, ballet and other cultural performances. Sonya was devoted to her family and friends; her other great love was Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona, where she spent countless blissful days. She was a tireless and dependable volunteer and frequent leader in many organizations, including Temple Beth Israel, Girl Scouts, Simpson School PTA, Kivel Nursing Home Auxiliary, Encanto and Palo Verde Women's Golf Leagues, Hadassah, and her most recent home, ChrisRidge Village.
