Susan Garvin Obituary

Garvin, Susan (nee Murray)
82, of Phoenix passed away on July 5, 2012. Sue was born October 11, 1929 in Chicago and attended DePaul University. She had a diverse career, working as a teacher and as a research librarian for such firms as Greely and Hanson and Wade Advertising. She married John Garvin in 1966 and a year later gave birth to a daughter. In 1975 she moved with her family to Phoenix. Returning to teaching at Most Holy Trinity School, she remained there for twenty years, much admired by students and faculty alike. After her retirement she taught C.C.D. at St.Joseph's Church in Phoenix. She enjoyed visiting the art museum, botanical gardens and The World Wildlife Park.
She is survived by her daughter Bridget, sister-in-law Mary Garvin of Wheaton, Ill., brother-in-law James Hughes of Elburn, Ill. and many nieces and nephews. She was a lovely person who touched the lives of many people, and she will be greatly missed. Funeral Mass 7/24/2012 10 a.m. St. Joseph's Parish PHX

My children, Kellie and Michael had the privilege of having Mrs.Garvin as their first grade teacher. I remember her as a wonderful and talented lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. God bless. Ginger Sanford
