Thomas Hart Obituary

Hart, Thomas Edward
Loving family man, author, and man of wisdom and integrity, Thomas Edward Hart, 78, of Mesa passed away peacefully, May 2, 2015. Tom was born Feb. 23, 1937 in Wichita, Kansas to Ray and Lola Hart. The many people at his side as he fought during his final days are a testament to the lives he touched and the immense impact he made. Tom was welcomed home by his Savior Jesus Christ and first wife Dellia of 48 years. Tom graduated with a Masters from Arizona State University. He held a military career where he worked as a financial advisor in the Pentagon, was a decorated Vietnam veteran, and retired as a Major from the US Air Force. After serving his country, he settled down with his family in Mesa, Arizona. His candor, quick wit and humor made him easily loved by all. He was a doting grandfather who instilled a love of learning, hard work, and compassion into his granddaughters' lives. His humble and kind spirit led him to a respect of all creatures great and small and for most years of his life he had an animal companion or two by his side. His children, nieces, nephews, granddaughters, and great-grandchildren all share many fond memories of their time spent with him. He leaves a legacy of love, intelligence, perseverance, and unwavering support for family and the Lord. Tom is survived by wife Donna of seven years; children Robert and Ginger; Lisa and Michael; five granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Phoenix Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 63005 Phoenix, AZ 85082; a charity dear to his heart for many years. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, the 5th, with a burial service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, the 6th; both will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ 84207.
