Dear Schipper Family,

I am sorry for your lost. Thomas was a great person, friend and Shipmate. He always told me he loved to wear the uniform and to serve his country. I wrote the email below to some sailors who served with him and others. God Bless.

Sincerely,

Ryan McGeary

Respected Navy,

Today the United States Navy will lay to rest CTO2 Thomas Schipper from the NNWR San Diego Phoenix Remote Drill Site. He passed away on Saturday 12 Nov 05 and his funeral is being held today 21 Nov 05 in Showlow, Arizona.

Many of you probably do not know him but PO Schipper was a true Shipmate and a friend to myself and others. He had the out most respect towards his peers and his chian of command in the Reserves. PO Schipper wore his uniform and the CTO rating with pride, honor and commitment He coined the phrase "Yes CTO1(SW)" stressing SW which made everyone laugh. It's sad day in the Navy to have to loss such a young sailor and friend.

Everyone knows that CTO's are going away but CTO2 Schipper will have the honor many of us will never have the opportunity to bare. The right to bare the CTO rating forever. Whether we are Acitve Duty or Reserve Sailors we should take the time to check in with one another to ensure that our sailors are doing ok. Especially now during the holidays when some of us may need others. Thank you for you time.

Fair Winds and Following Seas to CTO2 Thomas Schipper

Very Respectfully,

CTO1(SW) Ryan McGeary
