Timothy Burke Obituary

Timothy Howard Burke, 32, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, November 30th, 2002. Tim, an honorary graduate of South Mountain High School, was born in Rome, Georgia on September 11th, 1970. For the past 14 years Tim made his home at Hacienda de los Angeles where he inspired and touched the hearts of many. In his early days there he was an avid fundraiser and author of "Burke's Newsletter". Despite a lifelong battle with Duschenne's Muscular Dystrophy, Tim possessed many extraordinary talents. His writings and beautiful drawings will be treasured for many years to come by those fortunate enough to receive them. But in Tim's own words he felt that his greatest gift was helping others. He was a great listener and friend to many. The loss of this extraordinary young man will be felt for years to come. Tim is survived by his longtime friends Mark Rogness and Ruth Kern and family; past and present members of his Hacienda family; parents Jack and Jane, sisters Charlene, Jackie, Cheryl and Pat, and many close friends. Tim was preceded in death by his twin brother, Terry. Memorial services are Saturday, December 14th 2002, at 11am at Mortensen King Funeral Home 2225 N. 16th St., Phoenix. Memorial contributions in memory of Timothy Burke can be sent to Hacienda de los Angeles, 1402 E. South Mountain Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85040 for a permanent memorial to be placed at a later date. Private gravesite service. Dance with the angels, Tim. You'll be in our hearts forever.
