Vernon Vetter Obituary

Vetter, Vernon Glenn
Vern was the son of Herbert and Alma Vetter of Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from the University of Illinois, he served as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Chemical Corps during the Korean War. Upon release from the military, Vern directed his energy to mechanical contracting, specializing in refrigeration and air conditioning. With membership in ASHRAE and HAR, and Professional Engineering Registration in several states, Vern engaged in vocational opportunities for 43 years in ten states throughout the mid and southwest, prompting his sister's observation "Instead of vacations, you move!" Vern retired in 1999, completing 25 years with various divisions of Toromont Industries. His family thought his passion was his job, his employers thought his passion was his family, both were correct. Vern's approach to life was simple: "Believe & trust in God - Use the brains God gave you - Live one day at a time - and - Remember the importance of other people". When he counted his blessings at the top of the list were: Parents, a sister, a wife, and a daughter that supported, understood, and loved him; sincere appreciation for the help and assistance he received from friends and associates over the years; and the opportunities he had to pass on to others some of the help he had received through the years. Reviewing his experiences of 81 years, his conclusion was "God is in charge". Vern is survived by his daughter Evon, his sister Audrey Burns and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W Thunderbird Road, Peoria, AZ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
