Virginia Aaron Obituary

Virginia Cauble Aaron, 89, a resident of Surprise, Arizona and a former
resident of Salisbury, NC, died Monday, October 22nd, in Peoria, AZ. She had been in declining health for several months and critically ill for the past week. She was born and raised in Salisbury, North Carolina, daughter of Robert Lee and Margaret Troutman Cauble who preceded her in death. She was married on November 25, 1933, to Francis Glenn (Jerry) Aaron who preceded her in death March 18, 1964. Following the death of her husband, she went to work in the Admitting Office at Rowan Memorial Regional Hospital until she retired and moved to Arizona to be near her son and his family. She was a member of Park Avenue Methodist Church in Salisbury. She is survived by her son, William (Bill) and his wife Jenny, of Surprise, AZ. Four grandsons, Raymond (Randy), Trinity, NC, William Jr. (Bill), Thomasville, NC, Jerry, Lexington, NC and Joseph, Cincinnati, OH. One sister, Mrs. Ruth Surratt, 402 Forest Drive, Salisbury; 5 great granddaughters and 2 great great granddaughters and several nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted in the Summersett Funeral Home Chapel, Salisbury, NC, with entombment to follow in Rowan Memorial Park. The family would like to recognize the loving care and concern exhibited to her and her family by her doctors, nurses and chaplain of Hospice of the Valley Patient In Care Unit. A special thank you goes to her Hospice nurse, Carol McArdle, for her love and support during her illness. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in her name to Hospice of the Valley, 9720 W. Peoria Ave., suite 128, Peoria, AZ 85345.

I worked with Virginia many years ago in the admitting office at the hospital. She was something else! I still smile at some of the things we talked about.
